I have signed up for Nano! Are you? Anyone done it before and have any tips?
If you are Nanoing please tell me your name on the site so we can 'buddy up'. I am Viklit there. Just sorting out my profile etc.
I am going to use this to get up to date with current projects I hope.
Does the blogosphere go quiet as everyone Nanos?
Anyone have any encouragement for us all? Nervous?
Let's encourage each other in the comments and if successful/people want I could put another post up during Nano for keeping us going encouragement purposes.
Does 'nano' make anyone else think of Mork and Mindy? Nanu Nanu everyone :)
I'm not Nanoing this year, but hopefully in the near future I will take the plunge at it! :) I could never work under deadlines but it's always good to try to.
ReplyDeleteMy best advice for all of ya Nanoing is never give up and have faith in yourself. And the biggie is CONTINUE WRITING NO MATTER HOW TOUGH IT IS!
Yeah, it does seem like the online writing community silences while NaNo is under progress.
Good luck! :)
Not sure if I'm doing it but I'll be here to encourage everyone else! :) Don't stress and try to enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteI'm doing NaNoWriMo for the first time- virtual high five! I tried looking for you on NaNoWriMo.org but your profile didn't turn up.
ReplyDeleteI'm excited! My advice is to try to have a bit of an outline before you start, so you don't have to go into it with no idea what you are doing (although that can be an adventure too). I tried searching for your profile too and it didn't turn up. My profile is allisoneb, so add me :)
ReplyDeleteAllison (Geek Banter)
I'll be participating this year, though I'm actually going to be writing short stories instead of a novel. My name there is AuthorAlden.
ReplyDeleteI'm actually pre-writing a bunch of blog posts this week so that I can keep my normal blog schedule without pulling me away from NaNo. I'd recommend doing the same for anyone who wants to keep their blog active while they tackle those 50,000 words. :)
Good luck!
Great minds think alike--I did a whole post entitled "NaNu NaNu" for Road Trip Wednesday last week. :D It was complete with a Mork & Mindy pic. I'm going to attempt NaNo and my name is JaimeMorrow on there. We can be buddies. :)
ReplyDeleteyou will do great! there are a ton nano ing this nov! i think i will be lonely!
ReplyDeleteWay to go Vik! I know you will do great and will be rooting for you:)
ReplyDeleteI think it's a great idea but I have no time for it. I am working on my 3rd novel as it is, plus teaching. That's enough for me.
ReplyDeleteBe encouraged, stick with it and don't give up!
Cheers.
Livia - thank you for the encouragement! Fingers crossed eh!
ReplyDeleteCrystal - thank you, I will need the encouragement!
Cynthia - I hadn't filled in any info but I have now so maybe I will show up? If not I can try and add you?
Allison - I have added you as a buddy!
J.W. - I have added you as a buddy (I am Viklit). Very good idea to have pre planned blog posts!
Jaime - hee, I will have to check out your post! I have friended you there.
Tara - we have our bloghop to entertain us too during Nov!
Ink - thank you ;)
Jeremy - Sounds like you are very busy. I have never been able to do it before because my work has always been busy during Nov, but this year I should be ok. Thank you for the words of encouragement.
GO FOR IT anyone doing NANO and thanks for the comments everyone ;)
I tried this one year and failed miserably. I've not returned since. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI'm NaNoing this year :D Writing under Randilee. Looking forward to reading what you cook up!!
ReplyDeleteGood for you!
ReplyDeleteNot doing it this year as I'll be editing, but I participated in 2010. Blogging continues, just a little more quiet. Most participants post their updates.
Best advice - if you fall behind, don't stress. Weekends are great for catching up.
And NaNo manuscripts can become published books. 2010 is when I wrote CassaFire.
I'm not doing it this year. I would suggest making a rough outline before you start the month. I'd also recommend cooking in big batches. :)
ReplyDeleteI'll be NaNoing this year. My name on the site is cds. All the best to you, VikLit! :D
ReplyDeleteThis will be my 3rd year, and I'm an ML this year. I've done a couple of posts on my blog (and one for a fellow blogger) re my tips for Nano. Hope this one helps :)

I don't NaNo -- I'm just way too slow. But I really wish I could at least come up with an awesome idea for a new project. Don't we all want that amazing, thrilling and original idea? I hope you have one, and I wish you much luck on NaNo! :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm not NanNo'ing this year, but I'm definitely sending you all loads of encouragement!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lexa and Nicole, I appreciate the good luck! :)
ReplyDeleteLexa, I wish you luck coming up with a new idea. Am always happy to brainstorm if that helps!
