Celebrate The Small Things - 21 June

Who doesn't love a good caption?
It is time for another Celebrate the Small Things!

The rules are as easy as 1, 2, 3!

1. Sign up on the linky list
2. Post celebrations in your blog- of small things, like having that great coffee or growing those tomatoes at last or writing 100 words of a new idea.
3. Hop around and celebrate with others.

This week has been one of those weeks where I heard about not particularly good news for several friends. You know break ups and not getting jobs and not being wells all that sort of thing. So it is hard to feel celebratory when my loved ones are going through a hard time. However! The point of it is not to see good things just when it is easy to, I guess. So here we go:

1. I am celebrating that I can be there for my loved ones. In these days of easy communication sending a text or email to let people know they are in my thoughts is easy!
2. It makes me grateful for my own situation - normality is to be cherished.
3. It has been sunny this week, and that makes everything better.
4. Started going for runs again. Slow and alternating walking/running at the moment but being active makes me feel better!

How are all of you?

  2. Lovely list of things to celebrate, Vik, and I know what you mean, I have a whole heap of friends in dire situations at the moment and it feels like I spend my whole time trying to be there for them but failing as there are so many to get round. I think the best thing you can do for them is to be 'up', like you are, give them some light relief.

  3. Providing moral support, whether it's giving advice, or just being there to listen or offer a shoulder to cry on... that's the best gift you can give a person!

  4. Nice celebrations. I understand about keeping loved ones close through texting. At night I text my children a quick goodnight, and I smile as they one by one respond. Communicating is at your fingertips.

  5. I love when I get an email asking me how I'm doing or when someone sends a link to an article I might like. It's so easy to do, but a lot of people don't bother.

And good for you for getting back to running! I've pooped out a bit on the activity/exercise but will get back into it soon. I always feel better when I move more. :)

    Have a good weekend!

  8. When bad things happen to other people it always reminds me to be grateful for what I have - you never know when it will be taken away.

  9. Ahhh, I really need to get more active. It's so hot here though. And I definitely celebrate with you being able to reach loved ones so easily now. It's comforting to know you can "be there" even when you can't :)

  10. Being able to support our loved ones with little things and just showing them they are in our thoughts is great reason to celebrate. Hope it all works out soon for the various situations. Yay for the new running routine ;)

And congrats on running/walking again! It's so hard to get out and actually do it.

  12. Normality and peace are precious things to celebrate. I also just got news of a friend who's breaking up from a recent marriage (quite a surprise) and now needs a place to stay. I thank God that so far, I'm not stressing out with the idea of it.

I pray your normalcy holds and your life continues with great favor. Writer’s Mark

  17. It's a shame your friends are struggling, but I know how much having someone to share with and make you feel better means. Friends are everything, and yours are lucky to have you. :-)

  24. Vikki, you can't overestimate the importance of simply keeping in touch. When I've been struggling and friends have texted a quick 'How's things?', it has made a huge difference. Well done on getting your running shoes on. Hope you have a better week this week.

  25. I really should start running again. Hmmm, maybe tomorrow ...

  26. It is important to always be around for those you care about. Congratulations for the run... :)

  27. There are some great things to celebrate, especially starting to run (even if you're walking half the time)

  28. You're right, normal is to be relished when we have it. Having just survived a weekend of wedding hell makes me long for a weekend when I can just stay home and relax without having to play social with drunk, intrusive strangers. Your friends are lucky to have you, and I'm sure they know it.

  29. M Pax - thank you, me too.

Heather - I have to force myself to go but I enjoy it once I have!

Bames P - thanks, glad I made myself go!

Emily - hee I'll build up to walking less of the time ;)

Beverly - ahh weekends at home are to be treasured!
