Celebrate the Small Things - Friday 23 August

Greetings Celebrationers! (The 1D premiere in London has put Directioners in my mind, ha ha).

How are we this week?

We're here for our weekly look at what we're all celebrating.

The rules are simple: post what you're celebrating, sign on the list, hop and celebrate with others! The celebrations can be as small, large or medium sized as you like! Let's celebrate lint (small) to Mount Everest (big) if you'd like.

Last week, I asked whether we should do weekly sign up or master list. Master list seemed to win out, so I'm going to carry on with that. I am however, going to stricter about taking people off. I don't want to be too strict - the point is celebration, not to feel like you HAVE to post. However, in order to keep the list trim, if you miss more than a few, I'll take you off. i.e. if it's a month since you posted I'll assume you aren't joining in- you can always sign up again, right?!

I hope that's okay, and also that I haven't removed anyone in error! (Apologies if I have!)

My celebrations:

  • Bank Holiday MONDAY folks - yes an extra day off.
  • Nearing the end of the tomato plants - yes, you thought you'd escaped the tomato plant references but you haven't ;) - they've been good!
  • Four gym trips! I am starting to get into a routine of it. Also, I had lost a few pounds so that's motivating me to go more, ha ha!
  • A week until I spend the day with my small nieces, yay!

Here's the list!

  1. Four gym trips in a week, I would be celebrating too! (Actually I would probably celebrate just one). Our last two months of travel have been riddled with poor internet, so I put myself back on the list now.

  2. Bank holidays are a huge reason to celebrate! Although I'm always sad when garden days come to an end - well, usually. In overly abundant years, it's more of a blessing when it stops growing :)

  3. Enjoy your extra day off! And congrats on the exercise and weight loss. You're doing really well with the gym routine!
    I'm celebrating note books!

  4. Days off are always a great thing to celebrate. The countdown to spending time with your nieces has begun. Children are wonderful.

  5. All right, I'm going to the gym. I've been thinking about it and thinking about it and waffling... Your post has decided me. It's at my office, it's free, and there it is. AND I'll have time to put makeup on. So you have something else to celebrate: you motivated a slacker!

Have a wonderful (three day!) weekend!

  6. Good for you on the gym trips!
That's a fair way to maintain the list. That's what I do for the IWSG.

  7. Oh, great job on your gym trips! It's so helpful when you see results because you're motivated to continue on. And I hope you have a great time with your little nieces! I'll bet they're as excited as you are about the visit.

  8. You lucky dog for losing some weight!!! My constant struggle. A day off is always a good thing. Enjoy the weekend.

  9. Yay for gym trips and the the lil loss... woot!
    Keep'm tomatoes references coming :D
Enjoy your extra day off and your nieces!!!

  10. I'm stupidly excited about the bank holiday. I've worked every one this year and decided I'd have this one off, which means I get three days off (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday) instead of just two. I'll miss the extra money, but not enough to make me work it!

  11. Yay for the gym trips and enjoy your holiday!

  12. You have a bunch to celebrate. I think you should have some chocolate!

  13. Oh, and thanks for fixing my linky thingie.

  14. Tomatoes, exercise, definitely a good week for you.

  15. Hooray for 3-day weekends and garden tomatoes! Enjoy your day off! :)

  16. Yay for the bank holiday and the garden fresh tomatoes! I'm so impressed with your gym routine. I got into a great writing routine...then real life butted in and I lost it. Have a wonderful weekend and fun with your nieces next week. :-)

  17. I hope you've got better weekend weather than I have. It's hammering it down. Trying not to think about my son and his mates wallowing in mud at the Reading Festival!

  18. Love those holidays! Enjoy. I'm glad you're sticking with the Master List. I find it very easy to go through that each week. Also glad you'll cut some slack for those who can't post every time. I might have to miss a couple in Sept. But I'll be back.

    Have a great week.

  19. Congrats on the exercising!

I'm trying to push myself by starting off easy, and I did about 12 minutes on my elliptical this morning. I'm hoping to jump on it for at least 10 minutes every time my spirit spurs me on when I'm doing nothing but watching TV - usually after a tiring day of work or a rare "nothing planned" weekend, but still. Of course, I did go out and eat too much ice cream after church today. But, it was just a "sputter" I had to go through before starting my diet over, which I plan to do Monday... Oh wow! That's tomorrow already! Enjoy your day off. :)
