Celebrate The Small Things: 31 January + Cover Reveal for Jen Naumann

I have a cover reveal for Celebrate The Small Things today!

Celebrate the small things is a weekly celebration, where we celebrate the small things - or big things - in life, and we hop around and celebrate with others. Sign up on the linky below.

I have something a bit different this week so I hope that's cool with you all!

Today I am celebrating the big thing of my friend and fellow Writer Diaries member Jen Naumann's new cover! I love a good cover and this is NO EXCEPTION.

Here's what the book is about and HERE IS THE AWESOME COVER

Everyone thinks Harper Young killed her boyfriend. No one will say it to her face, but the signs are everywhere.

It’s almost been a year since Gavin was torn from Harper’s arms and brutally murdered. The police wrote it off as a freak accident, deciding Harper’s strange testimony was given under duress. But she knows something unnatural was involved and refuses to stop looking until she finds his killer, even if it means her reputation as a senior is ruined. Even if it means there really are monsters living among us.

With the discovery of the mothmen, witches, vampires and all the creatures she always suspected were out there, Harper finds herself amidst a complex bundle of unseen heroes who call themselves "Keepers", sworn to keep the secret of the paranormal creatures that walk this earth. As she tries to understand what’s so special about her that she’s able to break an old Keeper law, Harper has a baffling vision of kissing a mysterious guy before a blade is brought down on him. Before she can get a handle on her future, she becomes central to a battle between the questionable “heroes” and the evil she’s been training to fight, leaving her to wonder if there’s any way to change the fate that has been foretold before it’s too late.

Celebrate The Small Things: 17 Jan edition

Greetings Celebrate The Small Thingers! How are we all this week?

The rules of Celebrate are simple, and can be found here in this post. Fundamentally: we celebrate the small excitements, achievements, successes or pleasures of the week!

This week I am celebrating:

  • Reading some of my CPs marvellous manuscripts. It's so awesome seeing work come to fruition and realising how great it is - and hoping you've been helpful in some small way!
  • Going to Afternoon Tea with my friend this weekend, as our Christmas present to each other. So much for a January healthy-ness!
  • The Weekend

How about yourselves?

How are the resolutions going? Mine are going NOT well at all! Oh well!

Celebrate The Small Things: 10 Jan edition

Here we are, the first full week back at work for 2014 and already CELEBRATING! Hasn't it flown by?

Celebrate The Small Things is a weekly hop where we celebrate the small things in life: the finished chapter, the completed report at work, a warm cup of tea on a cold day...the rules are simple, and more info can be found here.

My celebrations this week are:

The first full week of work is (almost) done - hurrah. Let's not count how many more to go this year...
Leftover Christmas chocolates were brought into the office, and I had a good time eating up all the big maltesers (the snickers were oddly unpopular).
My godson's first birthday party this weekend!

What are you celebrating?

IWSG: 8 January: New Starts

Time for Insecure Writers Support Group  - the first for 2014!

Like a lot of people, I have been making resolutions and planning new starts for 2014. I will eat healthier, I will keep going to the gym, etc.

I know myself well enough to know that some of these will fail. I know there are some resolutions there is no point making. There's no point saying that I'll stop being insecure about my writing, or worrying about its quality. I worry and angst because I care about it. It's not something I can switch off.

I can control how I react to it though. If I'm in a writing funk, I'll work harder. I'll try and turn those negatives into a positive this year.

Anyone with me? And anybody got any 'positive thinking' tips? :)

Happy 2014 - Happy New Starts everyone.

Celebrate The Small Things: 3 Jan 2014 edition

Greetings and welcome to 2014 and Celebrate the Small Things!

I am starting the year as I mean to go on: by posting my weekly celebrations!

Thank you to EVERYONE who joined in this in 2013. I posted my first celebration last January on the 11th and here we are nearly a year later. I really, truly appreciate everybody who has joined in and I hope, will continue to join in.

I have made a master post: HERE which explains the rules, and contains the sign up list. Please link to here if you need to explain the rules or link somewhere, and comment there if you need to be removed or added. I will be using that link on a weekly basis.

I have tidied the list for the new year: if I removed you and you intend joining in, please accept my apologies, it's tricky keeping track!

Finally, I missed last Friday 27th due to messing up the scheduling of my post, many apologies! I am only just properly back online so am going to use part of that post now!

My celebrations are for 2013:

1. Most importantly, aside from minor illnesses, my loved ones stayed healthy. I am grateful for that.
2. I made new friends, online and off. *hello new friends*
3. I am able to work and enjoy it, despite it being quite busy sometimes ;)
4. The time I have had to write!
5. I have got into a gym habit I hope to continue.
6. CHOCOLATE. Life would be dull without it.

Thank you to all of you for joining in. Happy New Year!
