Celebration time again this week! How are we all? The UK is in the middle of a heatwave and I for one am sweltering ;)
It is time to celebrate - the small things. The completed chapter or the mastered pilates stance. The flowering plants and the fun night out.
This week I am celebrating:
A weekend of no plans! I have had a series of fun times, with weddings and birthday do's and such, but it is nice to be looking forward to a restful weekend, especially when the sun is shining.
Went to a Brazilian restaurant with friends last night. Aside from fabulous food, they had 'Refrescos' on the menu - non alcoholic cocktails. All the yum factor and none of the hangover of regular cocktails - I'm a fan!
My Bedroom Fan. I wouldn't be sleeping without it. It's got a remote control. I swear it wasn't a fancy one, but it randomly comes with a remote control so I can switch the fan on and off from my bed. I don't have that big a room, so this is a completely unnecessary luxury/amusement.
What are you celebrating this week?!
I can't sleep without a bedroom fan either, too quite.
ReplyDeleteYou always go to these wonderful restaurants! Jealous!!
There is nothing I love more than sleeping with a fan going, I can't stand trying to sleep without one. Now I'm jealous of your remote controlled fan LOL.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your restful weekend! :)
I'm with you- a weekend with nothing on the docket is the best thing ever!
ReplyDeleteAnd non-alcoholic cocktails are SO yummy, especially when it's all super-hot outside. Give me a fruity etoh-free margarita anyday!
And I'm jealous of your little remote. Even though all I have to do is sit up and scoot forward to grab the chain on my fan I'd far sooner press a button.
I would love to try Brazilian food!
ReplyDeleteMy husband keeps it so cold with the AC that if I had a fan blowing on us, I'd wake with icicles on my nose!
And enjoy your rest. I don't anticipate any rest for me during the upcoming weeks. My summer stays full and this year has been extra crazy!
I'm celebrating my bedroom fan, too. (even it if doesn't have a remote) I'm looking forward to next week when the temperatures are supposed to drop.
ReplyDeleteNon-alcoholic cocktails are yummy! Great that you have a fan *nods* I'm glad I have a sky-light over my bed, so at least the night air swoops in for an occasional breeze. Stay cool!
ReplyDeleteBrazilian food and yummy drinks sound wonderful! I hope that you enjoy your slower weekend. Oh, and a fan with a remote sounds fun :) We have a ceiling fan in our room but I have to go all the way to the door to turn it on and off. (It's not far but if I'm in bed I don't want to get out!)
ReplyDeleteRefrescos sound wonderful--what a great way to beat the heat! Enjoy your relaxing weekend! :)
ReplyDeleteA weekend of no plans sounds wonderful. Enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteYay for the fan, no plans and omg... Brazilian food and Refrescos? I want! lol
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the weekend ;)
I bet you don't have a lot of AC in the UK, do you?
ReplyDeleteNever been to a Brazilian restaurant. Like to try one though.
Congrats on the night out! Good food and great friends -- it doesn't get any better than that. :-)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy that plan free weekend and 'fan fun'.
ReplyDeleteVery nice things to celebrate, VikLit. Hope your new fan keeps you nice and comfy and that you have a great weekend. Thanks for stopping by my blog.
ReplyDeleteDani - I am lucky to live in London with its many exciting restaurants! (and to have the time to go).
ReplyDeleteJulie - I was amazed it came with a remote control!! It feels v. OTT.
Beverly - the non -alcoholics were yum. Ooh fruity margarita sounds lovely!
Ink in the Book - heh! I am jealous of your AC!
M.J. - remote or no remote, fans are WELCOME in this weather
T. - ooh night air sounds great!
Sarah - heh, all the way to the door isn't too bad, but I must say having a remote is nice hee!
Lara - they were yummy thank you ;)
Nana - thank you, I will!
S.K. - I recommend the Brazilian food, YUM!
Alex - no AC in my flat, no. My workplace does, but I haven't ever had a flat with any!
Lexa - it doesn't!
Sheena-kay - thank you! Happy weekend to you!
I'm not a fan of heat either, not without fans. :)
ReplyDeleteA weekend w/o plans is nice. I plan to work. Mmm, cocktails w/o the booze would be lovely.
The 'mocktail' was v. welcome! :)
ReplyDeleteYay for a restful weekend! Don't think I've ever tried a Brazilian restaurant sounds interesting and those cocktails sound nice too!
ReplyDeleteLove the idea of great tasting drink without the hangover. And so glad you have that remote fan, the weather here has been so hot and humid.
ReplyDeleteBrazilian menu, that sounds very tasty. :) Here it is alternating between sunny and rainy. Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteOoh yes, it's been hot here as well, and our air conditioner broke down this week so fans are a definite luxury we are happy to have!
ReplyDeleteToday's Telegraph has an Olympics special to mark a year since London 2012, and it includes some Brazilian recipes ahead of Rio 2016. Might have a go at 'Classic caipirinha' - which is pretty much sweetened vodka on the rocks!
ReplyDeleteIt is great to have no plans for the weekend, and it seems like you're enjoying yours with food and resting in coolness. :) Writer’s Mark
ReplyDeleteNo plans for the weekend means lots of room for spontaneity. Enjoy!

Sometimes it's those small conveniences that make life wonderful. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI've yet to taste Brazilian cuisine, though I doubt that there are any Brazilian- styled restaurants close to where I live.
ReplyDeleteA plan free weekend? Sounds idyllic... but for me, merely a dream. In the entertainment industry, weekends are the busiest!

Refresco's sound like a great idea. I'd love to have cocktails but I'm really not a big alcohol drinker. I just don't like the taste most of the time.
ReplyDeleteA weekend with no plans sounds great for relaxing too, enjoy!
Great things to celebrate! And I'm totally loving that fan with a remote! I want one. :)
ReplyDeleteYum! Those refescos sound delicious. I could do with some of those! :)
