What's Up Wednesday - 17 July

Time for What's Up Wednesday again, featuring the Ready Set Write check in ;) It's so helpful having this weekly catch up!

What I'm Reading:
Finished Kiss Me First by Lottie Moggach and I thoroughly recommend it. It's a fresh, psychological thriller which definitely held my interest. Here's the goodreads linky.

What I'm Writing:
My aim last week was to edit 10 chapters - and I did! Hurrah! Those were big picture edits though, and am now going back through my novel with a closer edit. So let's say 5 chapters this week and see how we go...

What Inspires Me Right Now:
Gosh. The fact my sister-in-law did a triathlon. My published friends. Sunshine. Good friends. Restful Sunday afternoons.

Those might be too general, but that's how I'm feeling.

What Else I'm Up To:
Attempting to keep up with going to the gym, but work is busy so I end up working late or staying at my desk rather than popping out at lunchtime and no GYM happens! Ah well!

What about all of you?

  1. Congratulations for editing your 10 chapters, that's great! Good luck with this week's goal :)

  2. Ah, the gym. There is one in my office, on my floor. less than half a city block from where I sit. and it is free. With its own locker room. Scrupulously clean and rather pretty. I have not gone yet. I am, however, about to turn off this internet connection and, having confronted a mental image of VikLit shaking her finger at me, will open Scrivener and edit the (very amusing in a laugh-out-loud way, for me) chapter I've been putting together...

  3. Ten chapter edits - that's great!

  4. Good luck with the writing! And you have to make time for the gym or something similar. Its hard sometimes, but necessary for that balanced life.

  5. Well done! I'm still going with Camp NaNo and progressing overall. I'm reading Chris Bohjalian's new one, THE LIGHT N THE RUINS - it's a historical literary mystery set in Italy in the 1940s and 1950s, and I'm enjoying it. :)

  6. You go editing princess! You have some great inspirations and the gym will be there when you're ready.

  7. Editing ten chapters is fantastic! I think your goal for this week is realistic and definitely achievable. Go you! :)

  8. Hooray for editing success! And restful Sundays sound wonderful too.

    Have a great week!

  9. Congrats on your edits. Good luck as you continue moving forward. I'm so excersize adverse I don't even belong to a gym, so I don't think you should feel bad about not going, but maybe that's just me.

  10. Wow! Great work this week! And double wow on the triathalon! Go you!

I hope you have another wonderful week! Good luck with those edits!

  11. Congrats on editing 10 chapters this week! That's great! It's great that you have so much in your life to inspire you. Good luck with your goals this week!

  12. Congratulations for making your writing goal this week, Vikki! :) Sorry that work is so busy for you at the moment. I hope you eventually find time to get back into your gym routine. I hate exercise, but I have to admit, it does give you energy and overall feelings of well-being. I'm possibly the most reluctant exerciser, and it's probably the biggest act of sheer will-power I do to hit the elliptical. *sigh*.

All the best with your writing and work this week! :)

  13. I'm not not writing anything at the moment (unless you count blogging, of course). I'm bereft of inspiration and need a holiday. *pulls feel-sorry-for-me face*

  14. 10 Chapters? Wow!
The gym? I hear ya. I can do the jogging thing, because it's just right outside my door. But I'm out in the country, pretty far from any decent gyms, and the thought of adding another thing into my day... so far, I'm too lazy.

  15. I've been trying to just get the dogs out everyday for a walk and it's been so hard in this heat. Sounds like all is going well with the edits-- excellent!

  16. Wow! Editing 10 chapters is pretty impressive :D Good luck for next week :D

  17. Laura - thank you, I might need the luck ;)

Diana - heh!!! Me? Shake a finger? Go you on the edits ;)

Alex - thanks, was nice to get on with it!

Stephen - it is so hard to fit it all in!

Madeline - sounds interesting, I'll look it up!

Sheena-kay - that's true, the gym is running away anywhere ;)

Jaime - here's hoping I can manage it!

Miss Cole - I love a restful Sunday!

Kate Scott - hee, thank you I feel better now about the gym lacking...

    Alison Miller - thank you!

Ruth E. Day - thank you!

Colin Smith - it is a HUGE act of willpower to hit that gym! And so easy to find an excuse not to.

Julia - aw. Sometimes we all need a holiday and a break!

Lily Cate- you are good to go jogging! I could do I guess, see, why don't I?!

KatOwens: - it is v. hot to be out and about!

    Elodie - thank you.

    Have good weeks everybody!!

Please comment, I'd love to know what you think! :)
